Fairfield County, South Carolina
Fairfield County Road Improvement Program

Pervious SidebarFairfield County saved the community approximately $110,000 per mile by upgrading 2.5 miles of road with full-depth reclamation with portland cement for every one mile of asphalt pavement, at the same price. The upgrades provided Fairfield County citizens with lower homeowner’s insurance premiums, increased property value, and bettered the overall quality of life for residents living along the once dirt roads.

Road construction with full-depth reclamation with portland cement uses the materials from the deteriorated asphalt pavement to create a new stabilized base. There is no need to haul in virgin aggregate or haul out old material for disposal. Truck traffic is reduced and there is little to no waste.
