Daines Tours Ash Grove Cement Plant in Montana City

Aug 18, 2014

MONTANA CITY, Mont.— U.S. Rep. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) today toured the Ash Grove Cement Company manufacturing plant in Montana City, Montana. The event, hosted in part by the Portland Cement Association (PCA), included a briefing of the cement manufacturing process, followed by a walk-through of the facility.

Ash Grove’s Montana City plant manager remarked, “Congressman Daines has been a strong supporter of American cement producers since his election to Congress. His interest in experiencing the cement manufacturing process firsthand demonstrates his commitment to cement manufacturing in Montana and across the country.”

The congressman is an influential member of congressional committees that are critically important to cement producers, including the Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure and the Committee on Natural Resources.

Ash Grove’s Montana City plant supplies cement for infrastructure and other construction projects throughout Montana and the northwest region. The facility employs 79 Montanans and supports an additional 800 local jobs.  Ash Grove operates cement manufacturing facilities in eight states.
