Sip Chen Liew is a seasoned chemist and R&D leader with over a decade of experience specializing in sustainable materials science and climate technologies. As Chemistry Lead at Carbon Upcycling, Sip has pioneered patented innovations transforming industrial waste like BOF steel slag and clay into high-performance supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), significantly reducing the carbon footprint of cement production. With a robust background in product development, Sip has led cross-functional teams, strategic partnerships, and commercialization efforts to scale sustainable solutions. Sip holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.
