PCA Corporate Member

Mitsubishi Cement Corporation manufactures and supplies all major types of portland and specialty cement from its Cushenbury facility in Lucerne Valley, California, located on the rim of the Mojave Desert. Mitsubishi cement is used to support new construction, modernization and infrastructure improvements in U.S. states of California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah markets.

Supporting operations are a fleet of 80-to-100-ton haul trucks that carry limestone from the quarry to the primary crusher. Located on the plant site, are 22 cement storage silos that have a combined capacity of 72,000 tons of finished cement product.

The plant’s history began with the Cushenbury limestone quarry, developed to support steel producing operations during World War II. The cement plant was then constructed in 1957 to supply cement to support the postwar California population boom. The facility was modernized in 1982 and Mitsubishi Cement Corp. purchased the plant in 1988. Today, the Mitsubishi Cement Corporation Cushenbury Plant is one the leading industries in the Victor Valley.
