Continental Cement Company, a Summit Materials Company

PCA Corporate Member

Continental cement began making cement in Hannibal, Missouri, in 1903. Today, it operates two cement manufacturing facilities, in Davenport, Iowa, and in Hannibal, Missouri, with nine distribution terminals along the Mississippi River between Minneapolis, Minnesota and New Orleans, Louisiana. Continental also provides customers with services for all its customers’ construction and cement-related needs, large and small.

Continental owns and operates Green America Recycling, LLC (GAR), adjacent to its Hannibal and Davenport plants. GAR has been sustainably repurposing waste materials as fuel in the cement manufacturing process for more than 30 years. Safety, ethics, sustainability and inclusivity are among its core values.

Continental’s high-quality cement has been used in many iconic construction projects, like the Empire State Building and the Panama Canal. More recently, its cement was used in the Minnesota Vikings’ new football stadium and the St. Louis Cardinals’ newest baseball stadium.

Continental Cement Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Summit Materials, Inc.
