PCA Works to Develop Voluntary Guidelines for Low Carbon Cement and Concrete Protocol
On June 13, representatives from government, industry, academia, PCA member companies and staff, and practicing engineers and scientists gathered at PCA headquarters in Washington, D.C., for an intensive one-day session aimed at filling the current gap in low carbon cement and concrete guidance. Low carbon is increasingly defined in the eye of the beholder with little or no regard to either upstream and downstream impacts or short-term and long-term strength, durability, and resiliency concerns.
PCA is taking the lead in this effort as another part of its ongoing commitment to achieve carbon neutrality. While the gap won’t be filled in one day, this initial meeting was a critical first step for stakeholders across our entire value chain.
