Success in Sustainability
The Portland Cement Association sponsors the industry’s Environment and Energy Awards, which recognize U.S. cement plants that are demonstrating outstanding environmental and community relations efforts that go above and beyond what is required.
Award Categories
Distinctions in each category recognize achievements in the previous calendar year.
Environmental Performance
The winners in this category go beyond laws, permits, and regulations to minimize their impact on the environment.
Innovative Technologies
This category awards plants that have applied emerging technology relevant to environmental protection or energy efficiency.
Energy Efficiency
The Energy Efficiency category recognizes efforts toward energy planning, applications of efficient technologies and practices, and climate change mitigation efforts.
Land Stewardship
Winners in the land stewardship category conserve and enhance their property’s natural resources and features well into the future.
Outreach
Community engagement is vital to the industry’s sustainability goals. The Outreach category honors activities that enhance community, employee, and government relations.
Overall Excellence
This award recognizes facilities that demonstrate excellence in multiple categories (e.g., Land Stewardship, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Performance, etc.).
How to Apply
Below are the applications for the 2025 E&E Awards.
Please note sections A-C of the application are shared with judges, therefore PCA will redact any identifying information such as company name, employee name, country name, and school name, from those sections. Information about states that help explain the regulatory conditions is passed along to judges. Please consider this when drafting these sections as providing a narrative with less information that needs to be redacted may help judges have an easier time reading your submission(s).
