Protecting Cement Workers
PCA’s Safety Innovation Awards commend cement manufacturers for inspired solutions to safety and health challenges in facilities and help spread these ideas across the cement industry.
What We Look For
The SIAs honor innovative practices, programs, and projects in plants and terminals across the U.S. PCA’s Occupational Health and Safety Committee members know how the cement industry makes workplaces safer.
Award Categories
Applications may fall in one of four categories:
- Milling and grinding
- Pyroprocessing
- Distribution
- General facility improvements
Judging
Scoring criteria include originality, ease of construction and use, level of risk prevention, and effectiveness.
Judges represent PCA member companies, mining-sector NGOs, and the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). Entries are anonymized before scoring.
